Peter Adamson’s fantastic podcast, The History of Philosophy without Any Gaps, has begun discussing the Early Church Fathers. This is fantastic for two reasons: 1) it introduces the lives and thoughts of the Early Church to a wider audience than normal, and 2) it will focus precisely on my interest in the relationship between Christianity and Philosophy in the Early Church. Needless to say, I am going to be very picky about what he says (especially about Origen), but so far the first two have been good:
- 101 – Father Figures: Introduction to Ancient Christian Philosophy
- 102 – Please Accept Our Apologies: the Greek Church Fathers
The next episode will be on Origen, but it was exciting to hear Richard Sorabji mention Origen in a previous episode: 99 – Richard Sorabji on the Commentators.
So, check out these episodes, and if you haven’t already, subscribe to the podcast.
